Bill Goodwin is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter whose musical journey reflects a deep resilience and lifelong passion. He began playing classical guitar at age 12 and spent his formative years performing in church, eventually branching into rock, punk, and metal. In the late 1980s, Bill studied composition and performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Life led him away from music as he built a successful career—from the sign industry to co-owning a company, creating neon signs, and eventually producing live events, video, and graphics. Still, his creative core remained rooted in music.
A decade-long struggle with calcific tendonitis and a shoulder injury nearly silenced his playing. But during the pandemic, Bill committed to an intense, self-directed physical therapy regimen. Slowly, the pain receded—and with it came a rediscovery of joy through the guitar.
A pivotal moment came in 2022 during a chance meeting in Palm Beach with Stevie Nicks' band members, Ricky Peterson and Al Ortiz. A spontaneous beach sing-along reminded Bill of the simple, profound joy of shared music. It reignited his desire to perform. He began learning covers at a rapid pace, took vocal lessons, and built a repertoire of over 130 cover songs and 10 originals by 2025.
Having spent years behind the scenes producing events for world-class talent, Bill is now embracing the spotlight himself. With a renewed spirit, he’s performing live, leading sing-alongs, and continuing to write. For him, music is about connection—not fame. It's about creating shared moments that transcend individual stories and bring people together.
As he says, “You can pack a lot of life into a three-minute song—it’s one of the closest things to real magic we have.”
